WHO

WHO WE ARE

THE NEW INN

A family run village pub with a difference.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

In 1972 Tommy and Kathleen McKeefry moved to England from Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. With the dream of running a pub thay arrived at the Navigation in Overseal. There, they learnt the trade before moning to Peggs Green and finding the place that would become home...The New Inn.

Kathleen and Tommy ran the pub for 14 years, with the help from their two children James and Tina and their partners Tina and Martin. As the years passed the 8 grandchildren, Sinead, Katrina, Grainne, Ciaran, Aisling, Fergus, Ursula and Mairead, also become part of the family business, spending summers helping out and making memories. During this time the pub was owned by Bass but in 1992 it was taken over by Enterprise Inns. This was the year that Tina, Martin and the rest of The Kells took over.

HOW IT WORKS NOW

Since then we have continued to work hard as a family to make The New Inn feel like an extension of our home. We have held strong through tough times for the pub trade and continue to adapt to keep up with the times. Currently you will find food available Monday - Friday evenings provided by a range of local food vans and chefs or the option of a NEW INN TAKE INN......essentially order or a takeaway or bring your own food and we will provide the plates and cutlery etc, plus clear away and wash up for you after.

We are a traditional pub serving real ales and 'the best Guinness around' according to our customers. Every inch of the walls are covered with memories we have collected over the years alongside pieces added by customers.

So, welcome to our world, we hope you enjoy and we look forward to seeing you soon.
